Exploring Himalayas via Manaslu Circuit, Upper Mustang and Ghorepani Poon Hill Treks

Manaslu Circuit Trek has emerged as one of the most popular alternate treks to the Annapurna Circuit Trek and is also known as The New Annapurna Circuit. The trek lets you explore the best of Himalayas as you head towards the eighth highest peak of the world located at the height of 8156 m. The trekking to this wonderful Manaslu region takes about two weeks and you have several teahouses on the way. There are more than 2000 trekkers, which prefer to follow Manaslu Circuit Trek to experience the protected wildlife, Buddhist and Hindu Culture, scenic view of the mountains, raging rivers and more.

Manaslu Circuit Trek has undergone many changes over the last few years after 2010 that continues to make it easier for the trekkers. Many teahouses have been established all along the way on this newly developed trek. Although, some of them are not as advanced as in the Annapurna Trek are but are good enough to make sure that no camping is required. The permit fee on this track was also slashed down to $50 per week by the Nepal Tourism to attract more trekkers. However, it is required to have a registered trekking guide to get the permission to trek on this route.

Trekkers looking for an easier and lower trekking peak can go for Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. It is an ideal trek for the beginners as the maximum elevation on this trek is just about 3210 m and it takes less than a week to complete the trek. People can start trekking on this route from Pokhara in Nepal, which is the easiest location to approach this trek. Even those people who have altitude sickness can go for Ghorepani Poon Hill trek as the altitude is manageable. Moreover, it does not take an extreme level of fitness to complete this trek.

Upper Mustang Trekking is especially suited to the people who are looking for more than just the trekking in the Himalayas. It is one of the very few treks in Nepal that are open for trekking throughout the year as it lies in the rain shadow of the Himalayas. Its unique location not only protects trek from monsoon rains but also offers an amazing trekking experience. Upper Mustang Trekking lets you explore the best of Buddhist Culture and Traditions that is still preserved in the places encountered along this trek. The permit fee for trekking is $500 for the period of 10 days.
